NEWCASTLE, Placer County — Placer County placed a proposed annual adjustment to Newcastle Fire Protection District’s fire facilities impact fees on its May 19, 2026 Board of Supervisors public-hearing agenda.
The official hearing notice describes a proposed 2.3% inflation adjustment, along with review of the district’s capital improvement plan and mitigation fee report.
What are fire facilities impact fees?
These charges generally relate to the impact of new development on the need for firefighting facilities and capital equipment. They are distinct from a resident’s current property tax bill or insurance premium. Actual rates depend on adopted regulations, permit type and the fee schedule in effect.
Was the change finally adopted?
The public hearing notice is a record of what was proposed for consideration; it does not by itself verify the final vote or the legally effective fee. Property owners, builders and contractors should obtain the adopted resolution and the current fee schedule from Placer County before calculating costs.
Written questions may be directed to the county’s Executive Office or the Clerk of the Board. The project is separate from fire district regulations governing building construction and inspection.
